In order to increase the production of Ufshi aus crop in Kharif-1, 2021-22 season, free aus seeds and fertilizers have been distributed among small and marginal farmers in Shibchar upazila of Madaripur district.
Shibchar Upazila Parishad Chairman Abdul Latif Mollah was the chief guest at the distribution function presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Asaduzzaman and conducted by Upazila Agriculture Officer Krishibid Anupam Roy Tuesday (April 13).
Vice Chairman of Upazila Parishad Fahima Akter was present as the special guest on the occasion.
Later, 5 kg of paddy seed, 20 kg of DAP fertilizer and 10 kg of MOP fertilizer per person were distributed among 800 farmers in 19 unions and one municipality of small and marginal farmers of shibchar upazila.
Upazila Agriculture Officer, Anupam Roy,
said, “In order to increase the production of aus paddy, seeds and chemical fertilizers have been distributed free of cost among 800 small and marginal farmers. With the use of these seeds and fertilizers, the production of aus paddy will exceed the target level and farmers will be able to benefit by planting aus paddy if the weather is favorable.
Chief Guest Abdul Latif Mollah said, “To increase the production of aus paddy, the government of Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has given us seeds and fertilizers free of cost. You will plant these seeds and fertilizers with due care. So that we can get good yield. And everyone will be health conscious in this corona epidemic. Wear masks yourself all the time and make everyone in the family aware of the use of masks. Move while maintaining a safe distance.
